It started with a name - WildChild - but really, it’s more like a reflection. A reminder that we all carry two sides: the wild in us that’s bold, fearless, and rebellious. And the child that’s soft, playful, and still finds joy in the little things. It’s about dressing for who you are - not your age, not the occasion, just the moment.
Label WildChild was born in September 2023, inspired both by Indian women confidently embracing western silhouettes and my personal journey with confidence and self-expression. Label WildChild is a promise to stop hiding and start celebrating.
What makes your label uniquely Indian? The spirit. The energy of the modern Indian woman: bold, expressive, and unapologetic. Every piece is made in India, by Indian hands and hearts, with a global voice.
I’m Kriti Bansal, 26, based in Delhi NCR. With a B.Com (Hons.) from DU and a post-grad from Pearl Academy, I followed my passion into fashion. WildChild is my energy - bold colours, music, and clothes that feel like freedom.
What inspired you to start this brand? It started as an idea I couldn’t ignore. Influenced by my creative, joy-filled parents and a desire to create fashion that’s bold and free.
While not rooted in a traditional craft, my connection is to emotion and expression — drawn from music, travel, and bold women around me.
I started solo. Now I work with skilled master tailors and artisans. Every process — from dyeing to embroidery — is done locally with trusted Indian vendors. It’s still hands-on and proudly Indian at its core.
We use cottons, cotton satins, and georgettes. Pot dyeing reduces waste. Embroidery is done by local artisans with care, not mass production.
Is there a story behind the craft? It’s not about one regional craft — it’s about a small-batch, conscious approach and skilled local hands.
Are the materials locally sourced?Yes, all materials are thoughtfully sourced. We avoid plastic, use quality trims, and keep the dyeing process low-impact. One conscious piece at a time.
Sustainability is in everything we do — from fabric to packaging. It’s not a trend, it’s our foundation.
How is your production managed? We’re fully made-to-order — no dead stock, less waste. Pot dyeing ensures reduced pollution.
I don’t believe in repetition. I experiment with cuts, creating bold, flirty, and feminine pieces that celebrate confidence and freedom.
Who is the muse? There’s no single muse. WildChild is for every woman who’s bold, confident, and unapologetically herself — at any age, in any body.
It means everything. We’re built by Indian hands, rooted in Indian creativity, with a mission to elevate homegrown western wear.
To make WildChild a pan-India name and grow into a full-fledged fashion house with clothing, accessories, jewellery, and more — bold, luxury vacation wear, proudly Indian.
Any exciting plans? We’ve joined The Chic Indian platform, have a playful new collection launching soon, and are exploring influencer collaborations. Stay tuned!
